CHARLESTON—Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone announced a new appointment for the Diocese of Charleston on Feb. 19.
Father Ronald R. Cellini, V.F., was named Vicar for Priests effective Feb. 20. He is pastor of St. Gregory the Great Church in Bluffton.
The bishop also announced the new members of the Presbyteral Council for the Diocese of Charleston. The council serves in an advisory capacity and were chosen during recent elections by all the diocese’s priests.
The new deans, all vicars forane, are: Msgr. Joseph F. Hanley, Coastal Deanery; Father Paul M. Williams, Midlands Deanery; Father Cellini, Lowcountry Deanery; Msgr. Steven L. Brovey, Piedmont Deanery; and Benedictine Father Karl Roesch, Pee Dee Deanery.
New deanery representatives were also elected. They are chosen by priests in a respective deanery. Those elected include:
Father Raymond J. Carlo for the Pee Dee; Father Timothy Tebalt for the Lowcountry; Father Dennis B. Willey for Coastal; Father Jay Scott Newman for the Piedmont; and Father D. Anthony Droze for the Midlands.
At-Large representatives are voted on by every priest on active duty serving in the diocese. Those chosen included: Father C. Alexander McDonald; Msgr. Lawrence B. McInerny, Father Gregory B. Wilson, Father Teofilo Trujillo, and Msgr. Chester M. Moczydlowski.
The Ex-Officio members, who are appointed by the bishop, were: Father Richard D. Harris, Vicar General; Msgr. Charles H. Rowland, Judicial Vicar; and Father Cellini.
