Diocesan seminarian admitted to candidacy

Guglielmone concelebrated the Rite of Admission to Candidacy at Blessed John XXIII National Seminary recently.

Diocesan seminarian William Hearne and eight others became public candidates for the diaconate and the priesthood at a Mass held Feb. 24.

“It is a humbling experience to have your own bishop do the installation for your candidacy,” Hearne said.

According to a press release, Hearne served over 20 years as a logistics officer in the U.S. Air Force prior to acceptance into the seminary. He also worked with Carlson Companies, heading operations for their U.S. government division.

Bishop Guglielmone and others joined the new candidates for a dinner at the seminary.
