CHARLESTON—Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone made the following appointments for the Diocese of Charleston effective July 1:
Father Arturo O. Dalupang from pastor of St. Anthony Church in Florence to pastor of Holy Family Church in Hilton Head Island;
Redemptorist Father Thomas A. Burke, CSsR, from pastor of St. Anne Church in Sumter to pastor of the Catholic Community of Sumter;
Redemptoris Father Charles Donovan, CSsR, from pastor of St. Jude Church in Sumter, to parochial vicar of the Catholic Community of Sumter;
Father Jeffrey F. Kirby was named vicar for vocations and chaplain of Cardinal Neumann High School in Columbia with residence and sacramental responsibilities at St. Joseph Church in Columbia.
Effective July 5 Adorno Father Edgardo O. Enverga, administrator of St. Philip Benizi Church in Moncks Corner and Our Lady of Peace Mission in Bonneau, has been appointed as pastor.
The bishop made the following appointments effective Aug. 1:
Father C. Alexander McDonald from pastor of St. Andrew Church in Clemson, St. Paul the Apostle Mission in Seneca and St. Francis Mission in Walhalla to pastor of St. John Neumann Church in Columbia;
Father H. Gregory West as administrator of St. Andrew Church in Clemson, St. Paul the Apostle Mission in Seneca, and St. Francis Mission in Walhalla;
Father Robert F. Higgins from pastor of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in North Myrtle Beach to pastor of St. Anthony Mission in Hardeeville, and chaplain to the Port of Charleston and diocesan representative to the Apostolate of the Sea, USA;
Father D. Anthony Droze from pastor of Our Lady of the Hills Church in Columbia to pastor of Our Lady Star of the Sea in North Myrtle Beach;
Father David R. Whitman, former administrator of St. Mary Church in Summerton, St. Ann Church in Santee, and Our Lady of Hope Mission in Manning, has been appointed pastor of Our Lady of the Hills Church in Columbia;
Dominican Father Samuel Oloyede is now administrator of St. Mary in Summerton, St. Ann in Santee, and Our Lady of Hope in Manning;
Father Francis J. Travis has been appointed Vicar for Retired Priests and will serve as pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Camden;
Franciscan Father John W. McDowell has been appointed chaplain to Clemson University with residence at St. Andrew Church in Clemson.
