Dominican Sister Patricia CaufieldADRIAN, Mich.—Sister Patricia Caulfield, formerly known as Sister Barbara Thomas Caulfield, died Oct. 11 in West Palm Beach, Fla. She was 73 and in the 57th year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.

The funeral was Oct. 19 in the congregation’s chapel and burial followed in their cemetery.

Sister Patricia was born in Hoboken, N.J., to  Thomas and Barbara Franze Caulfield. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Adrian and received a bachelor’s degree in home and family life from Barry College in Miami, and a master’s degree in school administration from the University of San Francisco.

Sister Patricia spent 55 years as a teacher and school administrator. She taught at St. Mary Help of Christians School in Aiken, S.C., from 1955-60.

She was principal at Holy Name School in Gulfport, Fla., for four years and assistant principal for three. She was principal for 24 years at St. Jude School in St. Petersburg, Fla. Sister Patricia also spent six years at Rosarian Academy in West Palm Beach, Fla., as the director of the lower school, and was director of faculty development for two years.

Sister Patricia is survived by two brothers: Thomas Caulfield of Rutledge, Ga., and Patrick Caulfield of Ocean Gate, N.J.; and five sisters, Nancy Martin of Pompano Beach, Fla., Beatrice Mangold of Green Acres, Fla., Theresa Massagee of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Charlotte Massagee of Belmont, N.C., and Adrian Dominican Sister Mary Ann Caulfield.
