DANIEL ISLAND—Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone and Father Richard B. Tomlinson celebrated the annual Food Drive Mass at Bishop England High School Dec. 10.
The food drive helps parishes in the Charleston area feed people in need during Christmas. The Bishop England tradition has been going on for at least 50 years.
The school collected over $3,800, which purchased 300 boxes of pancake mix, 300 boxes of instant mashed potatoes, 300 bottles of syrup, 400 bags of rice, 200 bags of grits, and 600 cans of beef stew.
Also, about 3,300 canned goods were donated by students.
Bishop Guglielmone was presented with a $500 check by Elizabeth Works and Caitlin Paul, co-presidents of Caring Students Ministering Creatively, to use for a charity of his choice.
