CHARLESTON—In case you missed the last edition of The Catholic Miscellany, the newspaper’s publication dates will change in 2011. The paper will be printed every other week starting Jan. 6, 2011.
The Miscellany will publish on the following dates: Jan. 6 and 20; Feb. 3 and 17; March 3, 17 and 31; April 14 and 28; May 12 and 26; June 9 and 23; July 7 and 21; Aug. 4 and 18; Sept. 1, 15 and 29; Oct. 13 and 27; Nov. 10 and 24; and Dec. 8 and 22.
This is an effort to bring news about Catholics in South Carolina to a wider age range and through as many ways as possible.
The change will enable staff to update The Miscellany website on a more frequent basis and utilize the Internet and social media for sharing the Good News in the Diocese of Charleston, while providing the same quality reporting in our printed edition.
New features will be added to www.themiscellany.org such as video and reader comments to help create community in the readership and the church.
The new annual subscription cost will drop to $17.50.
As a tool of evangelization, The Miscellany remains valuable in spreading news about diocesan and parish events and developments, people who are making a difference in their communities, charities that show the reality of Christian outreach, and catechesis.
“A primary task of the Catholic newspaper, said Pope Benedict XVI recently, is to “give voice to a point of view that reflects Catholic thinking on all ethical and social questions.”
