Venture Crew heads to Japan

Three members of Venture Crew 115 from Aiken are participating in a Scouting adventure in Japan.

Casey Thomas, Kaitlyn Amidon and Alexander Paczynski were chosen to represent the United States in an international Scouting friendship program. The three teens are part of the crew from St. Mary Help of Christians Church, and will join 25 others as goodwill ambassadors.

They flew to Dallas on Feb. 2 for orientation, where the fierce snowstorm pummeling parts of the country made for a hectic start. Despite worries and delays, all the Scouts arrived safely at the Hotel Marroad Narita in Japan on Feb. 4.
