CHARLESTON—The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist will host some Piccolo Spoleto musical programs beginning May 27 at 119 Broad St. Admission is free unless otherwise noted. They include:
- May 27 at 3 p.m., Beethoven’s Mass in C, Op. 86, by St. Cecilia Consort & Chancel Choir;
- May 29 at 3 p.m., DaPacem concert for peace byAtlanta Schola Cantorum;
- May 30 at 5 p.m., Requiemby Herbert Howells performed by Westminster Choir College, suggesteddonation $40, $32;
- May 31 at 10 a.m.,Cathedral organist ScottTurkington’s program of Roman Catholic French organ music;
- June 2 at 1 p.m., The Cecilia Ensemble performs masterpieces of the English Renaissance;
- June 7 at 7:30 p.m., Crescent Brass with Scott Turkington, suggested donation $10 per person or $20 per family;
- June 9 at 10 p.m., Charleston Renaissance Ensemble features ethereal music from 12th Century chant to High Renaissance polyphony, suggested donation $12, or $7 for students or seniors;
- June 10 at 2 p.m., Sacre Voci chamber choir premiers Manuel Cardoso’s Missa Veni Sponsa Christi.
