Beaufort turns out for Life Chain
BEAUFORT—Theresa Pulliam, Life Chain coordinator for Beaufort, said 129 people took a stand against abortion at the Beaufort Life Chain held Oct. 27. The national event was held Oct. 6 but participants could opt for an alternate date.
Gift shop opens to the public
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH—Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 1100 Eighth Ave., N., has opened a gift shop. Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, before and after 5 p.m. Mass on Saturday, and before and after Masses on Sunday. It is closed during funerals.
Gifts for all ages can be found and for all seasons and categories including baptisms, birthdays, sacraments and anniversaries.
The ladies guild distributes the proceeds to charity and to $1,000 scholarships for two qualifying seniors from North Myrtle Beach High School.
Arts and Crafts success
PAWLEYS ISLAND—Precious Blood of Christ Church women’s club reported that it made over $10,000 at its 25th annual Arts and Crafts Show held Oct. 25-26 at the parish life center. The club uses proceeds from the event to fund grants to Lowcountry organizations that serve others. They also present a scholarship to a deserving student. This year Ryan Millane received the David Lilly Memorial Scholarship. More than 70 vendors participated in the event.
