St. Joseph parishioner writes ‘The Fairy Clan of Phenloris’
COLUMBIA— Brighton Publishing recently released the paperback version of “The Fairy Clan of Phenloris,” written by Theresa Grant, a choir member and cantor at St. Joseph Church.
The book is for ages 13 to adult and is also available as an ebook.

Rogers is youth of the year for Knights Council 13112
GREENVILLE— Blake Rogers was chosen as the 2014 Youth of the Year by Knights of Columbus Council 13112. Greg Moody, the Grand Knight, presented the award at a ceremony July 10 at St. Mary Church.
Blake was recognized for his volunteer service at his church’s monthly breakfasts and his dedication as an altar server and Boy Scout. He was praised for building a prayer garden at St. Rafka’s Maronite Church for his Eagle Scout project, and for his academic achievement at St. Joseph’s Catholic School, where he is a rising sophomore. He is the son of Frank and Sandy Rogers of Taylors.
Knights’ Project HOPE helps people with special needs around the state
COLUMBIA —The Knights of Columbus HOPE Foundation presented a check for $5,000 to the Burton Center for Disabilities and Special Needs on July 12. The donation will be used for a specialized wheelchair. The non-profit, multi county agency provides services for over 1,000 people with disabilities and special needs in Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Lexington, McCormick and Saluda counties.
The Knights also gave checks of $5,000 each to Pee Dee Center, Thad E. Saleeby Center, Washington Center, Berkeley Citizens, Inc., Marlboro County Disabilities, The Joy University, Camp HOPE, and Special Olympics of South Carolina.
The Knights raised more than $300,000 from its 2013 Operation HOPE drives held in South Carolina.
