CHARLESTON—People pray for an end to abortion in front of the Charleston Women’s Medical Center during the 40 Days for Life kick-off ceremony held there on Sept. 21. The event included a talk by Shawn Carney, who co-founded the 40 days event, which includes prayer and fasting, round-the-clock peaceful vigils, and door-to-door outreach to end abortion. 40 Days for Life runs across all 50 U.S. states plus 23 other nations from Sept. 28 to Nov. 6.
