COLUMBIA—Father Jeffrey Kirby receives The Order of the Palmetto from Sen. Tom Young of Aiken on behalf of Gov. Nikki Haley at the Statehouse on Oct. 11. Father Kirby, who is the administrator at Our Lady of Grace Mission in Indian Land and St. Joseph Church in Chester, received the state’s highest honor for civic leadership for his efforts to promote service and leadership in communities throughout South Carolina and especially among young adults.
