LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Sister Rose Ann Born, OSU, also known as Sister Judith, died at Sacred Heart Home on Nov. 28. She was 90.
A Vigil Service was held Dec. 1 at the Ursuline Motherhouse and the Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Dec. 2 in the Motherhouse Chapel, followed by burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bosse Funeral Home.
A native of Madison, Ind., Sister Rose Ann entered the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville in 1944. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Ursuline College in Louisville, and a master’s from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was an elementary school teacher for 42 years. In the Diocese of Charleston, S.C., Sister Rose Ann taught at St. Peter School in Columbia from 1949 to 1953. She also taught in parochial schools in Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi and Pennsylvania. Upon her retirement from teaching, she volunteered at several locations in Louisville.
Sister Rose Ann is survived by her nieces, including Sandi Miller, Emmy Gray and Ann Henson of Greendale, Ind., plus numerous other nieces, nephews and their families, and her Ursuline community.
