The role of Mary in the Church is in union with Christ and flows directly from it. This union of mother and Son in the work of salvation is made manifest through Christ’s life, especially at the hour of his Passion. “The Blessed Virgin Mary advanced in her pilgrimage of faith, and faithfully preserved in union with her Son unto the cross.” Mary in keeping the divine plan, joined the sacrifice of her Son and endured with her only begotten Son the intensity of his suffering.
Today, offer our Mother Jesus himself, when we receive him in Holy Communion.
