Christ Our King-Stella Maris, St. Mary net wins in hoops tournament

The Diocese of Charleston Youth Basketball Tournament, held Feb. 23-25 at the Myrtle Beach Sports Center, drew 53 teams from 18 schools and parishes for a weekend of fierce competition.

Christ Our King-Stella Maris in Charleston was a dominant presence on the court. With 14 teams registered to play, the school/parish netted first place in three of the four divisions. St. Mary in Greenville took the other championship prize.

Schools and parishes that competed include Blessed Sacrament, Charleston Catholic, Christ Our King, John Paul II, Nativity, Our Lady of the Rosary, Prince of Peace, St. Andrew, St. Anne, St. Benedict Church, St. Francis, St. Gregory the Great, St. Joseph, St. Mary, St. Mary Help of Christians, St. Mary Magdalene, St. Michael and St. Andrew.
