Taking the Real Presence to the streets on Corpus Christi

CHARLESTON—People from the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist walk in a eucharistic procession June 3 in honor of the feast of Corpus Christi. The feast day celebrates the real presence of the body and blood of Jesus Christ. Msgr. Steven Brovey, rector, holds the monstrance aloft as the crowd moves up Broad Street. Afterward, the faithful returned to the Cathedral, where benediction took place outdoors.
