Diocesan youth basketball tournament draws 53 teams

AIKEN—St. Mary in Greenville and Christ Our King-Stella Maris in Mount Pleasant ruled the courts at the annual Diocese of Charleston Youth Basketball Tournament.

The event, held at St. Mary Help of Christians School in Aiken recently, fielded 53 junior and senior teams from schools and parishes across the state, said Laurie Ulmer, athletic director at St. Mary Help of Christians.

Christ Our King-Stella Maris netted the championship title in the junior division for boys and girls, while St. Mary’s teams earned the top title and bragging rights in the senior division.

Runner-Up: St. Mary Help of Christians, Aiken

Silver: Christ Our King-Stella Maris (Rhodes), Mount Pleasant
