ASTON, Pa.—The Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia held their 2019 Jubilee Celebration on June 7-9. Jubilarians celebrating 50, 70, and 75 years of religious profession gathered at Our Lady of Angels Convent for a weekend of recalling memories and celebrating the years both past and present.
Diamond jubilarian Sister Nancy Crossen celebrated 70 years of religious profession. During her years in the Diocese of Charleston, S.C., she taught at Our Lady of Peace School in North Augusta. Currently Sister Nancy serves in prayer and hospitality ministry at Assisi House, the congregation’s retirement residence in Aston.
Assisi House hosted a special dinner for all the jubilarians. The next morning both jubilarians and guests gathered in Our Lady of Angels Chapel for a jubilee Mass. Father Cyprian Rosen presided over the liturgy, during which the jubilarians renewed their vows of celibacy, poverty, and obedience. After, everyone gathered for luncheon at Our Lady of Angels Convent.
Collectively, the 26 jubilarians represent 1,720 years of service in 24 dioceses throughout the United States.
