KINGSTREE—The Shrine of Our Lady of Joyful Hope-Our Lady of South Carolina received the monthly image award in October from Williamsburg Hometown Chamber for their beautification project and their efforts to attract visitors to the county. Father Stanley Smolenski, shrine director, and Cathy Bell, director of pilgrimages to the shrine, oversaw a number of improvements including various landscaping efforts, building renovations, and a new sign. The Shrine of Our Lady of Joyful Hope attracts more than 200 visitors to their celebrations in May and October.
