MURRELLS INLET—St. Michael School recently celebrated the 103rd anniversary of the “Dancing of the Sun” miracle at Fatima. Students processed into the gym with a 5-foot-long rosary, a Lady of Fatima banner, and a statue of Our Lady of Fatima. The fifth-grade class reenacted the Joyful Mysteries, which they are studying in religion class.
The school and church also hosted an unconventional drive-by Blessing of the Animals in honor of St. Francis, whose feast day is celebrated on Oct. 4.
Staff members said things are a little different these days, but with a little ingenuity and a lot of love they are keeping their faith alive.
