Bishop England’s Lady Bishops swept past the Pendleton Bulldogs to clinch their second state championship in a row, winning 50-36 in the Class AA state title basketball game held recently at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia. It is the third basketball championship in four years for the girls’ team. That accomplishment puts them in an elite category, with only three other programs in AA history who have won three titles in four years.
