Our Lady of Guadalupe image to travel on pro-life mission

SIMPSONVILLE — One of the Missionary Images of Our Lady of Guadalupe will travel to parishes throughout South Carolina from Oct. 17 to Nov. 2.

A Respect Life Mass will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 20 at St. Mary Magdalene Church, which is organizing the event.

The 4’x 6’ image is a digital replica of the original miraculous image of Mary as she appeared on St. Juan Diego’s cloak in Mexico on Dec. 12, 1531. It was blessed at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico and travels throughout the world. The miraculous image is associated with the pro-life movement because Our Lady of Guadalupe was declared the “Patron ess of the Unborn.”
