Boy Scouts of America: 100 years in the makingAs the Boy Scouts of America celebrate the centennial of their founding, The Miscellany presents a photo essay of Catholic Scouts in South Carolina.

The Archdiocese of Atlanta and the Dioceses of Charleston, Charlotte, Raleigh and Savannah joined for a Catholic jamboree at Camp Barstow on March 19-21 to commemorate the anniversary.

The weather March 20 was heaven-sent and drew about 800 Scouts to the festivities.

Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone celebrated Mass at the jamboree and told the participants that God will speak to them; it is up to them to be open enough to hear Him and listen.

He told the Scouts if they take the time to make the world a little better, then they have said yes to God.
