DANVILLE, Pa.—Sister M. William Hruby died March 31 at Emmanuel Center, Danville. She was 91.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated April 5 at Maria Hall. Burial was in the sisters’ cemetery.
Agnes G. Hruby was born Nov. 22, 1918, a daughter of the late Ignatius and Margaret Dirda Hruby in Bridgeport, Conn.
She attended Sts. Cyril and Methodius School and Harding High School in Bridgeport. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Marywood University in Scranton.
On March 18, 1944, she entered the Sisters of Sts. Cyril and Methodius. She was received as a novice on Aug. 16 of that year and professed vows on Aug. 13, 1946.
Sister William taught in schools in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and at Blessed Sacrament in Charleston, S.C.
She served as a superior and principal. For 18 years she performed general duties at Maria Joseph Manor. Her last two years were at Emmanuel Center.
Sister William is survived by Sister Marguerite Hruby, SSCM, and her community.
