The results for this year’s Rosary for Life campaign is 44,746, with counts still missing from a handful of parishes. The number is 10,000 more than the original goal, according to Kathy Schmugge, assistant director of the Office of Family Life.
“The large number of rosaries is a sign of our people’s faith and trust in God to guide us in our approach to end any threat to human life,” she said.
Len Turi, coordinator of the effort for the diocese, followed through with parishes for the tally even though he was injured in a fall.
“From ICU to a regular bed to home, he did not waste time to jump back on the computer and with his assistant [Carol Lintner], worked to surpass our goal by e-mailing and calling parishes,” Schmugge said.
