Matthew Tully receives AOH Life membership award
MYRTLE BEACH—Matthew Tully (left) of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Horry County Division 1 receives a national life membership award from James Nettles, state board president. Tully has been a member of the AOH since 1968. He was co-founder of the Joseph McGarry Division 1 in Myrtle Beach in 1996, one of the first divisions formed in the South. He was a founding member and former director of the South Carolina State Board and is currently serving as director for his district. He is also an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5086 and belongs to St. Andrew Church.
Joshua Carlton earns rank of Eagle Scout
GEORGETOWN—Joshua Carlton of Pawleys Island, son of Anthony and Cecelia Carlton, received his Eagle Scout rank on March 1 at St. Mary Church in Georgetown. His service project involved extensive refurbishing of a children’s room at St. Cyprian Church and Outreach Center in Georgetown.
Joshua is a member of Troop 360 and a senior at Waccamaw High School. He has been a Cub Scout and Boy Scout for 12 years. He recently became a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3067 in Georgetown.
Joshua will attend Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina in the fall.
