NORTH MYRTLE BEACH—Knights of Columbus Council 7122, the Columbiettes, and volunteers of all ages helped collect more than $24,000 during the Operation HOPE Tootsie Roll campaign to help special needs children last year. The money was donated to schools with special education departments. Council 7122 presented checks on March 18 to Mary Lynn Porter and Renee Fowler of Ocean Drive Elementary School, Michael Rowell of Waterway Elementary School, Jeremy Williams of The Grand Strand Down Syndrome Society, Gracie Williams of Horry County ARC, and Linda Trost of Current Transitions. Riverside Elementary school also received a check.
