CHARLESTON—Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone has made six appointments for priests in the Diocese of Charleston.
Effective April 20:
Father Luis E. Serrano, CHS, was appointed parochial vicar at St. Gregory the Great Church in Bluffton, with sacramental responsibilities at St. Peter Church in Beaufort.
Father Cesar Augusto Torres Pinzón was appointed parochial vicar at Holy Spirit Church on Johns Island, with Spanish ministry at St. Thomas the Apostle in North Charleston and St. Anthony Church in Walterboro, and residence at Holy Spirit.
Father Jaime Gonzalez was appointed parochial vicar at Blessed Trinity in Greer, with Spanish ministry at Jesus Our Risen Savior in Spartanburg.
Father Agustin Torm was appointed to ministry at Roper-St. Francis, the Medical University of South Carolina, and Bon Secours-St. Francis hospitals, with residence at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist rectory.
Father Francisco Cruz Velosa was appointed parochial vicar at St. Mary Church in Greenville, with Spanish ministry at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Seneca.
Also, effective June 1:
Father Jon Chalmers, in addition to his duties as chaplain at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, is appointed chairperson of the Academy of Life for the diocese.
