RIDGELAND—Leslie Nunez, a John Paul II School student ambassador, digs with Matt Dakolios, athletic director; Nicolle Thaller, school board president; and Konnor Rustad, another ambassador, during a groundbreaking ceremony held Aug. 20 for their new athletic center. The new facility will be 21,500 square feet and house a regulation-size gymnasium, athletic offices, lobby and concession stand. Choate Construction of Savannah, Ga., is the general contractor and the architect is LS3P from Charleston. The building is scheduled for completion in May 2016.
