COLUMBIA—St. John Neumann School’s chess team recently competed in the Midlands Scholastic Chess League III tournament and captured second place overall for the elementary section. Matty Ferrario earned second place in the individual rankings.
CHARLESTON—Five members of the Charleston Catholic chess club competed in a recent chess championship tournament for the middle school division recently and came away with a bronze medal finish. In individual competition, Matthew Johnson tied for third place.
