JOHNS ISLAND—Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach held its 23rd annual golf tournament recently at The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek. Eighty-six players participated and helped raise $56,000 that will support the outreach, education, and wellness services offered by the organization.
“We are humbled by the generous support of our sponsors, players, committee and volunteers who made this event possible,” Jill Jackson Ledford, executive director, said in a press release. “The money raised from this golf tournament will help provide education and services that Sea Islands as well as downtown-area residents need to make positive changes in their lives.
“Through educational programs, health services, and direct emergency assistance, we encourage members of our community to become self-sufficient and foster self-worth.”
