GEORGETOWN/PAWLEYS ISLAND—Knights of Columbus Assembly 3272 raised $4,827.80 from its nine-hole captain’s choice golf tournament held at the Heritage Club. The funds will go toward the construction of a memorial honoring the men and women of Georgetown County who gave their lives in our nation’s military conflicts, starting with the Revolutionary War. The assembly presented a check of expectation on July 11 to Rodney Ward, commander of American Legion Post 114; Ron Gilbert, president of Georgetown County Veterans Memorial, Inc.; Martin Alfonsi, a member of the GCVM board of directors; and Sonny Gamble, commander of VFW Post 6444.
