Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone joined a Good Friday Ecumenical Prayer Service on April 14, where he led scripture readings and reflections outside the Charleston Women’s Medical Center at 1312 Ashley River Road.
Christians of all denominations participated in prayers outside the clinic, where approximately 2,000 abortions are performed each year, according to a press release from Maria Aselage, director of media relations for the Diocese of Charleston.
Prayers were offered for all victims of abortion. Participants also maintained a solemn focus on Good Friday, the day that marks Christ’s death on the cross.
