COLUMBIA—Alyssa Gorrin, a senior at Cardinal Newman School, received a merit award and cash prize for her entry in the Lander University High School Art Exhibit. Alyssa created a ceramic sculpture depicting three pears in progressive states of decay. Her theme reflected the fleeting nature of life. You can see her art and that of four other Cardinal Newman art students at Lander University through Jan. 12.
