Archery team from Summerville and Divine Redeemer nails first place

COLUMBIA—Archers from Divine Redeemer School in Hanahan and Summerville Catholic School in Summerville teamed up and won the South Carolina Archery in School Columbia Regional Tournament at the State Fairgrounds recently. The group took first place out of 12 teams, beating powerhouse Blaney Elementary by 11 points, with a final score of 2,910.

Cheyanne Smith took first place individually with a score of 276 out of 300, beating out competition from 135 girls and 166 boys.

The combo team will compete in the state championship on March 26.
