COLUMBIA—Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone congratulates Sandra Leatherwood, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, on her 40 years of service in the Diocese of Charleston during a ceremony held March 7 at the Teachers Educational Conference at Cardinal Newman School in Columbia. Msgr. Richard D. Harris (left) and Msgr. D. Anthony Droze (right) applaud as Leatherwood receives her award.

In addition to Leatherwood, Patrick Greenwood and Phyllis Brandis also received awards for 40 years of service. Greenwood is a social studies teacher at Cardinal Newman and Brandis teaches social studies and religion at St. Joseph. Both schools are in Columbia.

Dozens of other teachers and staff members of schools in the diocese also received recognition for their dedication, marking 10, 20 and 30 milestone years of service.

The conference, held March 7-8, attracted hundreds of teachers from Catholic schools around the diocese.
