Bishop Guglielmone gives new assignments to 12 priests

CHARLESTON—Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone has made 12 new priest assignments, effective July 15:

Father C. Thomas Miles will become pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Simpsonville, and continue his duties as judicial vicar for the Diocese of Charleston’s tribunal.

Father Richard Wilson is assigned as pastor of Our Lady of Peace Church in North Augusta.

Father Renaurd West will be administrator of Sacred Heart Church in Charleston, teacher at Bishop England High School, and chaplain to Charleston Catholic School.

Father Jaime Gonzalez Farias will be administrator of St. Mark Church in Newberry, Holy Spirit Mission in Laurens, and St. Boniface Mission in Joanna; and chaplain to Tyger River Correctional Institution and to Presbyterian College.

Father Artur Przywara will be administrator of St. Ann Church in Kingstree, St. Philip the Apostle Church in Lake City, and St. Patrick Mission in Johnsonville, with sacramental responsibilities at Federal Correctional Institution in Williamsburg.

Father Rhett Williams will be the new administrator of St. Thomas More Church and chaplain to Cardinal Newman School in Columbia.

Father Jonathan Duncan will become chaplain to Furman University, with additional sacramental responsibilities to Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital and St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Greenville.

Father Francisco Oñate-Vargas will be parochial vicar of St. Mary Help of Christians Church in Aiken.

Father Michael Cellars, ordained to the priesthood on July 10, will be assigned as parochial vicar of St. Mary Magdalene Church in Simpsonville, with sacramental responsibilities at Perry Correctional Institution in Pelzer.

Father Orlando Serrano Ardila will be parochial vicar of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Murrells Inlet.

Father Andrew Fryml will become parochial vicar at Christ Our King Church in Mount Pleasant, chaplain to Bishop England High School on Daniel Island, and have sacramental responsibilities at the College of Charleston.

Father James Touzeau continues as parochial vicar of St. Joseph Church, with additional sacramental duties to Cardinal Newman School in Columbia.
