Top awards given to police, firefighter of the year

CHARLESTON—Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone delivered the homily at the annual City of Charleston Police Officer and Firefighter Awards Ceremony held Nov. 18.

Detective Nicole Quick was selected by the Charleston Police Department as Officer of the Year, and Capt. David “Eric” Glover was selected by the Charleston Fire Department as Fireman of the Year.

Also in attendance were Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg, Police Chief Luther Reynolds, and Assistant Fire Chief James Richardson, along with family, friends, and fellow officers and firefighters.

The event is sponsored by The Rev. P.N. Lynch Assembly 1071 Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
