Sister Carol Ann Dulka, who served for 31 years in SC, dies at 77

ADRIAN, Michigan—Sister Carol Ann Dulka, formerly known as Sister Mary Teresina, died on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Michigan. She was 77 and in the 59th year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.

Sister Carol Ann was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1943 to Anthony and Emeline (Horney) Dulka. She graduated from Hoban Dominican High School in Cleveland and received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian. She was also certified as a nurse aide and a catechetical teacher.

She also spent 14 years ministering in elementary education in Southgate, Alpena, and Belding, Michigan. She became a resident of Weber Center in Adrian in 2010, and served four years as a driver in the transportation office and two years as a mailroom assistant for the Adrian Dominican Sisters.

Sister Carol Ann was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Richard and Dr. Joseph Dulka. She is survived by a brother, William (Deanna) Dulka of Falls Church, Virginia; sisters Mary Ann (Conrad Brown) Hammons of Seattle, Washington, and Sister Patricia Dulka, also an Adrian Dominican Sister; loving nieces and nephews; and her Adrian Dominican Sisters.

The Rite of Christian Burial for Sister Carol Ann was held on Feb. 9 in St. Catherine Chapel, followed by a Memorial Word Service on Feb. 11, also in the chapel. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian.
