Seven priests receive new assignments, effective Sept. 16

CHARLESTON—Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone has made assignments for seven priests in the Diocese of Charleston, effective Sept. 16:

Father Jacob Joseph, of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate, was assigned pastor of St. Anthony Church and St. James the Greater Mission in Walterboro.

Father Oscar Borda Rojas was assigned pastor of St. James the Younger Church in Conway.

Father Zbigniew Zielinski was assigned administrator of Sacred Heart Church in Charleston; and as chaplain at Charleston Catholic School and Bishop England High School.

Father John Antonydas Gaspar was assigned as parochial vicar at Holy Spirit Church on Johns Island.

Father Arokia Raj Mahimai Doss, of the Missionaries of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, was assigned parochial vicar of Our Lady of the Valley Church in Gloverville, St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Edgefield, and St. William Church in Ward, with sacramental responsibilities at Edgefield Federal Correctional Institution in Edgefield.

Father George Rosario, of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, was assigned priest-in-residence at Our Lady of the Hills Church in Columbia, and as a supply priest for the Columbia Deanery.

Msgr. Karl. A. Chimiak, chaplain at Shaw Air Force Base, received faculties as a supply priest for the diocese.
