Bishop Guglielmone announces official appointments

CHARLESTON—Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone has made the following appointments.

Father H. Gregory West, from administrator to pastor of St. Andrew in Clemson, St. Paul the Apostle Mission in Seneca and St. Francis Mission in Walhalla, effective Dec. 14, 2010.

Father Hayden J. Vaverek, from pastor of St. Joseph Church and School in Anderson, to ministry with the Catholic Near East Welfare Association in New York, effective Jan. 1.

Bishop Guglielmone made the following appointments, effective Feb. 1:

Father Agustin Torm, from pastor of St. Anthony Church in Ridgeland and St. Mary Mission in Hampton to chaplain of the Veterans Administration Hospital System.

Father Robert Higgins, pastor of St. Anthony Mission in Hardeeville, chaplain to the Port of Charleston and diocesan representative to the Apostolate of the Sea, USA, with additional duties as pastor of St. Anthony in Ridgeland, St. Mary Mission in Hampton, and sacramental responsibilities for Ridgeland Correctional Institution.

Father James N. Dubrouillet, pastor of St. Andrew Church in Barnwell, St. Theresa Mission in Springfield, and Sacred Heart Mission in Blackville, with additional duties of sacramental responsibilities for Allendale Correctional Institution.

The following assignments are effective March 5:

Franciscan Father M. Paul Williams, from pastor of St. Martin de Porres Church and School in Columbia to pastor of St. Joseph Church and School in Anderson.

Father Venance Max Kishe, from supply priest assisting at St. Joseph Church and School in Anderson, to administrator pro tem at St. Martin de Porres Church and School in Columbia.
